The Sunday Slate’s Week 6 Preview for Saturday, October 10 (ET)
Week 6 brings another highest-stakes Saturday, headlined by a top-six SEC showdown in Tuscaloosa and the annual Red River Rivalry in Dallas. This weekend’s slate serves as the ultimate litmus test for marquee quarterbacks and premier trench talent alike. From Gunner Stockton and Keelon Russell trading blows in a clash of titan offenses to high-profile 1st-round prospect battles in the trenches, here is what scouts and draft enthusiasts need to watch across seven essential games. This is The Sunday Slate’s TV Guide for Saturday, October 10th.
No. 2 Georgia at No. 6 Alabama
A marquee SEC QB duel between Gunner Stockton (25-of-32, 295 YDS, 3 TD last week) and Keelon Russell (301 total YDS, 4 TD). Alabama’s high-powered offense hasn’t scored under 45 points in a game this season. While it will be good to see UGA’s offense face a strong defense for once, but 2028’s leading QB Russell will face some Sunday guys in S KJ Bolden and LB Chris Cole.
No. 1 Texas vs. Oklahoma (Red River Rivalry)
It’s a bad vibes QB matchup here as two of the most underwhelming passers in the highly anticipated potential 2027 draft class take the field in Dallas. Top-ranked Texas sits at No. 1 for the fourth consecutive week, coming off a bye week to face their archrivals. Texas EDGE Colin Simmons (7.5 of the Longhorns’ 15 total sacks) presents the ultimate trench test of the season for Oklahoma’s offensive tackles. Oklahoma’s Peyton Bowen (S) looks to challenge Arch Manning.
No. 21 UCLA at No. 13 Oregon
UCLA enters Eugene on a high note after dropping 50-plus points in back-to-back weeks, but now faces its stiffest test of the year. Watch Oregon TE Jamari Johnson (7 REC, 119 YDS vs. USC) duel UCLA’s dynamic offense led by RB Wayne Knight (9 TDs through four games). UCLA Sammy Omosigho is our best rated LB in the nation, so watching him against Johnson will be great to see.
Prospect Matchup of the Week: RB Jadan Baugh vs. EDGE Dylan Stewart (South Carolina at Florida)
Tune into this SEC Matchup to see the mentioned projected 1st round picks. On the other side of the ball, LT Jacarrius Peak should have his hands full with DL Emmanuel Oyebadejo.
No. 10 LSU at Kentucky
Two 4-1 teams battle here. Kentucky comes in with momentum after erasing a 17-0 deficit at South Carolina behind QB Kenny Minchey. LSU’s trench unit (PFF’s Offensive Line of the Week) protects QB Sam Leavitt (8 PASS TD, 6 RUSH TD, 7 INT) against a resilient Wildcats front. On the other side, watch for EDGE Princewill Umanmielen to match up against former PFF OL of the Week recipient LT Lance Heard.
Texas A&M at No. 14 Missouri
Missouri looks to build off its Florida victory against an unranked Aggies squad trying to bounce back into the top 25. Missouri’s Austin Simmons (QB) and Jamal Roberts (RB) draw a physical test up front against EDGE TJ Searcy and the Aggies; A&M’s C Mark Nabou Jr. was on last week’s PFF SEC Team of the Week.
No. 7 Indiana at Nebraska
Two 5-0 teams here, but only Indiana is ranked. Each of these teams get likely their biggest test of the year so far in each other. Expect Indiana to win, but by how much is the big question. We’ll be watching the Indiana wideouts, as Charlie Becker and Nick Marsh could be much better than Omar Cooper Jr. and Elijah Sarratt. Both former Hoosiers have failed to make big marks in the league.
